Pitchdorks, Deftones sounds more like a band in the throws of a mid-life crisis than a group of musicians that could be called the 'Radiohead of Metal'.Bands/Artists I have listen every album of. ![]() Aural Live Experience: A Musical Biography In Live Concerts. ![]() Artists from my record collection that I've seen live. ![]() So the short version of this ramble is yeah good album lol It feels like a fluid album that is not forced or contrived and as much as i love death metal and grindcore etc i love a band that does what it feels is right. So i came and wrote this because i let the new album sit with me for a while and it passed the test. Even with Deftones influence being heard all throughout the current metal and hardcore underground, itd be understandable if Deftones own new albums still felt a little too radio-friendly, but. what is important is the band rocks ! "Koi No Yokan" shows a band that can write new music that is entertaining and diverse (not a rehash of old albums) and i really feel like the band gets a bit better with every album they release. I don't know what the hell to call them at this point nor do i really care. What we have now a days is a band that has evolved and grown into an impressive example of good Genre defying Metal band. they don't write songs like 7 words anymore, but that is fine. Although this is the Deftones album that took the longest to appreciate it is certainly. The album remained in the Billboard top 100 for nine weeks, supported by the first single, 'Minerva '. Deftones entered the Billboard 200 at number two and sold 167,000 copies in its first week. The self-titled Deftones was released on May 20, 2003. I consider the band to be on the softer side of metal nowadays. Shortly after, the band returned to the studio to finish their fourth album. (my all time favorite album of theirs) overall since then i think they are good but I'll fast forward to their 2012 release "Koi No Yokan". i was loving that then When "Around The Fur" came out i was hooked from that point. My perspective on this band comes from hearing "7 Words" from the '95 album Adrenaline.
